THE GARDEN STATE SYMPHONIC BAND is a fully professional musical ensemble modeled after the very successful Sousa Band of the early 20th Century. Its primary goal is to maintain the American tradition of the professional concert band as a viable, artistic medium aimed at presenting aesthetically uplifting performances, which at the same time are entertaining to the general public.

Funding for these performances is provided in part by the Music Performance Trust Fund of the Recording Industry, obtained through the cooperation of Local 216-248 of the American Federation of Musicians, the City of Perth Amboy, Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, area businesses and corporations, as well as by individual contributors.
